I like Claire, I remember her from Filipina Lipstick, I genuinely think she tries her best and it’s hard to knock her for that. In saying that, I know she tells a lot of stories and generally just enjoys attention. Her reason for contacting you I’m sure is pretty obvious.
At the start of the interview she talks about being uncomfortable asking the slightly sexual questions to the girls she was interviewing (10:12). The first videos she has on her channel are her asking those exact same questions to filipina girls…
I like her, I honestly do, but she’s an actress if I ever saw one
I don’t think so. Claire said most of the same on Myk’s now defunct channel a few months ago. I guess that’s why Q and others lately have called her out on it. Just follow some of the usual suspects with sex-fixated You Tube channels in Dumaguete, Cebu and Angeles that cater to expats, and you’re very naive if you don’t understand that a big part of their business model is pimping out young filipinas to old foreigners.
1 sentence slipped through this 1 hour interview: that she must look after herself, not even the family will help.
The family obligation looks more as a curse than a blessing.
I have known some Asian people who got rid of the obligation. They have now a happy life. And when they visit family, they are not cursed.
Iโve followed Claire and some of the other Filipina Vloggers that started YouTube channels almost 3 years ago. She is honest. I respect that she and her co-host Kit quit Filipina Lipstick and explained the background situation when they started their own channel. She is not acting, just an emotional and caring person. She has led a complex and difficult life from a broken family and is ambitious and strives to be an independent woman. I am amazed Claire forgives the many people who have wronged her in the past and wishes them well.
Wow……..these LIVE female streamers are collecting alot of pesos………its life changing for some of these females. I see why the vlogging is really growing in the PH.
There are so many levels of content creation and distortions of reality which is unfortunate. Its great to see that this channel creates allowing high character and high moral subjects that teach one learn one to each other.
Having capital or taking loans ( php usd ) is always a crucial part of starting a small business. You can have only a vision but every where paper money rules……….
Claire is a smart beautiful young lady, I am sorry she was exposed to a lowlife like this and put into a position where she was used. She will be ok now, I wish her the best of luck with whatever she decides to do in her life.
Outstanding interview and lady!
Claire appears to be a courageous person and honest in the way she apologized to her followers, and saying
she is greatful and thankful to them. Social medias, Youtube included, are risky places, one day or the other.
I like the way she asks her kababayan to be more attentive at educating and advising the young people (or older…)โค
Seems she’s trying to downplay her own part and decisions and how financially she gained from it. Sure she may regret some of it now and feels embarrassed maybe, but while she was profiting before, it wasn’t so much of a factor and is smart enough to be political about it. Maybe she is just upset she didn’t fully profit from it. She didn’t actually have to do any of it because she mentions often that she can refuse it
Ouota of 3000 pesos but her smallest single donation is 2000. Then getting 50,000 and still going… asked for 3 interviews but chooses to do 5 or more daily…sounds like she is trying to earn as much as possible
28:48 made promises? But did they? Sound entitled and embarrassed someone who she thought was a celeb online when it could’ve been anybody. Maybe a little too much self importance, maybe. But definitely self entitlement and perpetual victim and never a willing participant. Being offered money and accepting to do it is actually considered as being a willing self participant, sorry to say.
Many parents, even biological ones suggest careers for their kids. But to say it’s bullying more than your own abilities to keep up and make it seem like something else, seems like she’s been making excuses for herself while talking about independence so boldly seems so controversial and contradictory from the discrepancies from her claim of reasoning to her story….
I had some “sight” moments watching this. I never followed Filipina Lipstick or watched whole streams/videos other than very few times scanning through to verify some. And even Ed doesn’t want to be on camera anywhere, and hires Filipinas to do the work, the expat community as well other YouTubers knows him as he also attended at least one of the expat gathering amongst other YouTubers that I know about. And there he did not hide to be the brain and having ownership of Filipina Lipstick. I just did a quick search and it’s still up and running. I condemn the moral and ethics to some degree as how Ed treated the hosts he hires (which he might not even be allowed to depending what kind of visa/status in the Philippines he has). But there is his side as well …. and more to it. Claire does not need forgiveness because everyone knows (all her current followers from the beginning) knows the story and so many explicit told her to not feel quilts or expressed there understanding. And even for me that was not the reason why I unsubscribed.
I would not put yourself in the middle as a soundboard in future content for very specific situations. And if you do, use your staff who you have at your disposal to take time and investigate/verify to get a full picture and different perspectives. Otherwise I would advice to cover such in an educational manner by a sit and talk video without visitors. About what is also happening in the Philippines.
People like this makes me sick!!! On my channel I send a new Filipina to eat and answer questions at a restaurant they pick, and yes I ask some questions that I know viewers want to know, but sinking as low as this guy went makes my blood boil. And about the Jollibee situation no video needed reach out to me I will help fund the feeding the homeless kids she wants to do. @Derrick thanks for having your channel its definitely 1 of the best!!!
Sus questions, click baiting thumbnails, or attention grabbing titles are 1 thing. But physically throwing things at her, and making her feel scared, and not helping her in her time in need. Man I hope she named dropped he can catch these hands ๐
She had enough people giving there well meant advice or warnings. But in my case together with another subscriber back than, she felt belittled and did not saw the advice or warnings. And that backfired to us.
God bless all the foreigners that help Filipinos without a camera because as she said in the beginning she felt nervous i guess anytime you put a camera in front of someone is some type of exploitation and now she has come full circle isnt life fun
The guy that this naive young lady is talking about, is a Sub-human manipulator. Without any real value. And takes advantage of girls that have no idea of what they are putting themselves into.
Even using her figures she was on a fantastic amount to the average filipino plus doing this seven days per week two live streams a day. Even if she done this for two months she’s earned multiple thousands of Dollars she would of no longer faced financial hardship. This seems like a business relationship were promises were not honored she realised she was a major factor in the success so goes it alone. Someone says in the comments she still asks these type of questions on her channel I think she come here with the intentions of giving a sad story playing the victim and hoping to increase her viewership so increasing income interesting if she still does live streams and how she generates income. I get the impression this one is too clever to do nonsense like lipstick she’s more a heart string doing good type girl. Shes playing a good game to catch the foolish & fishing is good.
Law enforcement is more effective in countries like America. These people exists in every country but the situations are handled differently in Asia. Some heartbreaking stories coming up.
Thanks Ai, Derek and Claire for this open interview.
Its always hard to listen of someone is treated like her.
I have some things in my mind and some ideas:
1) Who ever this guy is…its not the first time he is doing this and it will not be his last. Dont forget…that kind of stuff is how he creates money. As a foreigner he has bills to pay and he will do it again because its the only way he creates income.
2) There are so many women who are doing interviews like Claire explained. So i guess there are many other channels which are suffering the same sh!t right NOW!
3) There are no legal ways to handle this if there are no contracts, mails or other messages to proof there was a contract.
Ideas:
If the person is under 18…it would be a good idea to join a youtube network which manages the channels and pays the creators. Simple check “MCM” or “Youtube networks” for more information. There has to be trusted people who runs the network. After the creator is getting 18 he/she should decice if he/she would stay in the network or leave. Maybe there are already local MCMยดs right now. I am not a local and dont have any information. If there is nothing…maybe its time to create one, help young creators to find their own way and get fairly paid.
In the end you can see…Youtube is a lot of fun but some of the creators are managed by monsters. There is no harm description for that. One big thing as a creator is networking. Talk to each other, be open and help each other. This dude could only doing this because Claire was for herself. If creators stand together guys like this have no chance.
I wish Claire all the best and thanks for your open interview.
Stay safe..if there is money involved there are always risks. So…stay and fight together!
after 20 minute mark i dont see it lol. the guy gave her a job she excepted it , payed her etc etc ,,, she could of walked out anytime she liked , not happy being a actress she could of started her own channel anytime, or found other work that she felt more suitable . many of us except jobs we dont like due to money reasons. now she is just complaining and whinging about it ,

Great advice. It’s not my fight and not my normal peaceful content
@@qadventuresthe above was great advice, Derek, as I do not see your channel going in this direction.
It’s not like Filipinas don’t take advantage and tell falsehoods to foreigners. Sorry, but this is a non story.

Honestly they should expose the guy behind the channel. People like that don’t deserve to stay anonymous.
I agree, but I cannot confirm facts to make it my fight. And also, my channel is more about lifting locals over cyber warfare
@qadventuresย Its understandable from your viewpoint.
This girl is no victim. She was a willing participant in this.
She just needs some guidance and some one who she can bounce things off
I think that was her motivation when she reached out to us
She had enough people giving there well meant advice or warnings. But in my case together with another subscriber back than, she felt belittled and did not saw the advice or warnings. And that backfired to us.

Some. Many also go out of their way to jump into camera frame
There’s a lot more channels out there that have girls working for them that are owned by foreigners…
I am so out of the loop

America has a lot of perverts and pedophile. This is why perverted questions are being asked to those young Filipinos ladies.
