  • Please tell this girl she is very special. She has a good heart. And to continue with school.

Let us know how we can donate some to her cause because there are many people watching that want her to succeed.

    • The Philippines doesn’t have access to crowd funding so this is the best we can do

  • @Q Adventures. Omg Derek such a heart felt vlog and heartbreaking aswell.😢😢
Man it brought tears to my eyes wen you handed her the 5000pesos and even Ai aswell.
Your a legend Derek and so kind hearted and everyone should hit that like button, coz this is a vlog worth watching.

  • You gave her such great advice. You have a kind heart and offering to be there fir her in the future I hope she takes advantage of that.

  • Scary part of being around suicidal people, you never know if they’ll take other people with them when they decide it’s time.

    • Not a statement of expertise, but I think people you speak of are of mental illness and you are correct. In most Asian countries, these thoughts derived from depression, desperation, and endless roadblocks

  • Derek you seem very naive or lacking in knowledge about children and their education on the Philippines, yet you live there? There are many expats supporting children in the Philippines throughout their schooling. They need transport money to school if they cannot walk because it is too far, they need snack money, they also need school uniforms and stationery supplies. It is common for children not to attend school due to lack of money, most poor families can barely afford food…they don’t eat three meals a day, they don’t have milk for their babies. You need to watch other vloggers so you can see what we have already seen!
Dustin Backpacks has been in the Philippines for years, he is with a filapina and they have a child now. He is about to return to the USA with his fiance and child. But if you look at his many years of videos you will see how he has helped families in the province from building CR’s for them, to rebuilding homes damaged by Typhoon Odette, to subscribers sending gift boxes, and subscribers paying regular money to help families go to school. Being short of food when poor it is well known that people scavenge in the trash for food and eat that food it is called Pagpag (recycled garbage food) there are thousands of videos showing all this mainly in the slums of Manilla. There is no help for poor families apart from themselves leaving poverty, you really need to get educated about the poor in the Philippines.

  • So sad that the planet’s wealthiest and largest land holder (The Catholic Church) does absolutely nothing for the meek.

  • A lot in the Philippines have a hardship in life especially in the provinces. It’s very kind of you to help these kids that are struggling daily. Looks like she sees a glimmer of hope now, that she has money for school and possibly food to survive. Great video 👍

  • Not to stray from the level of importance of her situation. When I go there should I pack sun lotion and mosquito spray? I almost wonder if you go out of the house with lotion and bug spray over the top of it on your skin? 😅😂😂 don’t wanna get burnt like a lobster or get the dung hay.

  • Danm that hurt to hear, 1500 pesos is around 30 dollars not 100. In my country all school children get free education untill Post secondary. If any student qualify for university free scholarship by the state. It is a law here that all kids should go to school until 15 years old. The government provides free school breakfast, free school lunch and transport to and from school paid tax payers money paid by the government . Here many parents do not take their responsibilities towards their children education and some kids create lots of trouble in school. Now hearing this from a student struggling and crying just to manage to complete her education gives me goose bumps. I was able air this interview on the national TV in my country to make everyone hear this so that people can take their education and responsibility seriously here.

    • That’s my hope. To get the word out so better perspectives can be formed throughout different cultures. Perspectives

  • Wow Q…all the emotions within me poured out for this girl and her sister/family. You do so much to be able to make this happen and the support is just a blessing. I am subscribed to your channel and will look forward to donating on a regular basis so that you and your team can do what you do to make a difference in people’s lives. God this post was so good! Ty

  • Sad story Derek. Poor Jimsel, i felt her sadness. In my experience living on Cebu, parents and their offspring tend to not be very close as the kids grow older and the kids find it difficult to share their feelings with their parents. There is also a tendency for the parents to focus more on discipline than love and understanding so the kids do not feel comfortable approaching their mother or father about their feelings. We have experience of this with a young lady in our family who finds it easier to relate to us about her personal problems than her parents, and she recognises my wife and i as her alternative Mum and Dad.

    • Given the economical conditions, I understand (don’t agree)how this is. Similar to how I was raised but my life was fortunately not as extreme

  • On my first visit to the Philippines, I met a former Jesuit priest who had lived there for more than ten years. When I told him that many of the girls I was meeting had so many problems, he said, “Joe, the Philippines is full of sad stories.”

  • 😢😢🙏🏼🫶🏼. I hope Jimsyl doesn’t let on to many that she has that money,… Also beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing comes to mind.
Wishing Jimsel all the best in her studies 👏🙂🙏🏼

Derek, Ai and others who are helping and donating, I salute you all, it makes me cry🙏🏼🫶🏼

  • Excellent show of love and kindness. Two thumbs up Derek.
If possible I might join you one day to give you some assistance on such house projects.

  • Not a good video. You never bring up a topic like this. Mental health is not a joke and depression is not something to do on a vlog with a young child. It’s my opinion.

    • What you say is correct but I don’t believe she ever attempted suicide. A 5 yo can’t understand the concept of hanging themselves and that cut on the arm was nothing.

    • @@qadventures your sitting there trying to pull out of her that there was other types of abuse and we know what your hinting at from the uncle. She was already upset.

  • Yes/ take care of your self first. Otherwise things can seem overwhelming/ it’s not selfish. And yes I do help others!! As best I can.

  • You seem to have missed a vital part about such hotlines that people should be aware of: The individuals answering those phones may be strangers, they have also gone through the same issues. It’s a requirement to work on such sensitive topics. Unlees they changed the laws and policies since my grandfather last checked (he has a law degree).

    • Don’t worry, Jimsel. Different cultures and Different ways of life. All comments are feedbacks we can all learn from

  • Poor Jimsel 😥she was so worried about the money for school – Thanks Derek and Ai for all you’ve done for Jimsel and her family.♥

    • Yeah. In the beginning, she said 10 pesos per notepad and she needs 8, hence 80 pesos. She was worried over under $2USD. My heart sunck

  • Great Job Q Adventures, of course slimebags like “Sick Grandpa” Youtuber will use content like this to make fun of, He is evil.He already has a video he made making fun of you.

  • Q, you’re a good man. Thank you for your example. You guys really helped her out by listening to her and helping so she can pay for school.
    What does Jimsel study?

  • she said she had a you tube channel, could you give us the link for it so we may be able to help her out to get her to make money from it..

  • Hey Jimsel, Tom here

With Derek an Ai you have great people around you. This video was very hard to watch because of all the stuff you had going through. But you are here…YOU ARE strong and the most important thing…you are NOT alone.

I am very happy that you ended the video with here smiling.

  • Hi Derek and Ai👋, the loving compassion you guys show to those in need is heartwarming. Jimsyl has been through much trauma in her young life and I’m so happy you’ve been able to help.🙏I’ve gotta say, I think this interview was your best yet, bravo👏

  • I recognized a lot about what she said about her early years as a child. She survived her own thoughts and I’m sure she will be okay (if she keeps surrounding herself with good people). Her youth will always leave a scar but she will give it a place. As long she feels and start believe that she matters and is a big asset in this world.
Giving her the opportunity to help others may work very therapeutic for her own good.

  • Good evening derek, I have just watched this young lady’s interview, it’s nothing short of tragedy, and it’s hard to watch, but it is reality in the Philippines 🇵🇭
I wanted to ask you to ask her this question 🙋 how long more does she half to study 📚 to complete her studies and get her diploma or degree 📜 whatever, because I would be happy to help this young lady so she can have a future, it’s just awful to watch this interview, if you have a email 📧 I can contact you on so I continue to support and help this young lady reach her objective,

  • Needing 80 pisos ( I believe about $1.50) for exams and not having it is tragic. Most of us have that under our car seat. The quiet desperation that so many people have to live in every day is heartbreaking. Until the cycle of poverty is broken, even someone helping out, like Derrek and Ai do) is just a bandaid. A wonderful bandaid, but still, until that poverty cycle is broken, people have little chance to breathe.
