  • Love how your channel promotes self sufficiency for locals. Absolutely the best thing for them. Also gives them a sense of pride.

    • As guests in this country, it’s nice to give back to locals who is a huge part of why this country is paradise

  • How clever to make the porch accessible and affordable to many who would otherwise do without. Thanks for the tour, Ai,Derek & Natalie.

  • Living my dream! He seems younger. I’m curious of his story on how he was able to get his life to a place where he could spend a year there. She is so supportive yet independent. Filipinos are the most caring people.

    • He is younger and only has a few years on me. My understanding is he is a tech guy graduated from Georgia Tech and worked on contracted projects all his life so he is not bound to a “job”

  • I AM not critiquing Your great work, Jay.

One thing I have noticed. Even in my Wife’s Family home. They don’t use pee traps in any of their plumbing. And our toilets, sinks and other plumbing piped run off, they did not make any pee traps. So there is a noticeable smell. And the handyman cemented all the piping. Making it very difficult/more work to make the corrections, for breaking group.

I love the creativity of the work Your friend did. Even making the passive income.

The grey water run off from bathing, is perfect for watering the plants.

Phenomenal work Your friend has done, Derek. 👍

    • I agree as I am a repeat customer of Derek’s and his bikes are all New and in great shape to take anywhere ad truly a blessing to know him and the lovely Ai and all the Q crew.

  • If Americans move over to the Philippines or visit for a month or two or three can you go fishing? do you have to buy a license?

    • As I understand it, no license. I will know facts soon as we will be providing the service via boat (deep sea) fishing

    • @@qadventures I ask that because the sites I follow in the Philippines no one ever talks about doing any fishing besides buying it at the market’s. I’m retired now and go fishing 4or5 times a week. I live in Southwest Washington State there’s places to fish everywhere. Have a Great Day.

    • Sure. Completely understood. Fishing is not my thing so I can’t speak intelligently about the license requirements. I have a subscriber turned friend who is coming back in October and we will do a deep sea fishing expedition together and create a fishing itinerary

  • Lovely to see 😊, the changes are amazing that Jay has helped his beautiful partner Lorena,-(not sure of the spelling, my apologies) family and community.

    Wonderful advise too Derek 👍

  • Thanks again for showing us what Jay has done. As I have said before, he is an amazingly humble guy who just wants others around him, including himself, to live a decent life. Well done Jay, much respect to you.

  • these two need their own youtube channel, they have good chemistry and are very interesting to watch

  • How wonderful and Beautiful that Jay made His Girlfriend Lorena’s house better thru investing in her family who all joined in to make all of their lives better. He empowered them to put skin in the game and something as simple as a porch has turned into a minor business and gathering place where you could even get a haircut. pretty soon they’ll have a Sari-Sari store featuring eggs and chickens. Clearly Jay has some skills as the bathroom looked good. Plus doing the bed for momma shows he cares allot 😢

  • Another amazing video, wonderful friends of yours. Jay has done an amazing job and he has a heart of gold. Very inspirational and heartwarming ♡

If only all expats were like you guys. You must be extremely proud of what you have done for so many. Helping others in need is the most important gift we can give and doing so seems to give us a gift as well… the gift of love and compassion.

This video will touch many hearts and guide others on how to do the best they can to give back in the simplest of ways.

I may not have a special someone, but I am eager to help others wherever I can. The needs of others are everywhere and I should have no trouble seeing my opportunities as i have a few skill sets and a few pesos to share ♡

Thank you for this video, it was very uplifting, God bless

  • Kool vid Derek. Your friend def helped his girl with life necessities. Spread those positive vibes. Gotta eliminate cynical mindset of the west and promote love for humanity

  • One of the best videos I’ve seen to date… great discussion of how life can get change- for the better. 👏🏻👏🏻
