  • Wow, That is something else inside of that house! Looks like it was hot in there? Too bad your audio was getting messed up in there. ๐Ÿ˜…

  • Thanks for the tour around this community.

Could you please check the audio? These Bluetooth mics are great but they has to be on the outside. To avoid wind noise there are little fluffy wind covers available which will solve the wind issue.

See you in the next one ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Wow, just do not know how can 15 people fit in there. The best the politician doing the guard job outside, wondering if he really cares of their situation or just for their votes

  • I have a question regarding the trash there…

Do you have to pay so that the city collect your private trash or how does it work?

  • I’m currently doing some analysis for an expat to live in various countries. Would you mind telling me the standard price for a male haircut in Philippines? Have a great day

  • Thai government aught to be ashamed of themselves for leaving human beings to live in this Trash Iโ€™m appalled

  • Best 90 pesos spent paying the toll for cclex bridge. Saves a lot of time. I really like SM Seaside mall a must visit has everything including an ice skating rink and a great movie theater.

  • Hi Derek were you nervous going around that neighbourhood it sounds like they talk different accent in that camp

    • @@qadventures honestly shocking Iโ€™ve never seen living conditions so poor the old man catching fish for consumption and they are swimming in the human toilet lots of people have missing teeth perhaps they are selling their teeth or fighting they are also living on top of a Refuge Dump

    • Don’t be so sure. The camera isn’t see the despair, illness and empty stomachs. There is no excuse for this in a country rich in resources. We all know why this exists.

  • That is some amazing content! They are literally living on the edge, but unconcerned. I dare say they are much happier than most in the US!

    • They are not happier than most in the US. Nobody can in that situation. They just have to deal with the cards life has given them. There are a lot of fake smiles in that community and a lot of suffering. They will gladly exchange places with you.

    • @@ChochiT0-ddd7fd Well said. I don’t like when people say they are happier. I think people who say this has never really been in the US or in the Philippines. They just see Youtube and think people are this way. I have lived many years in both. I agree that people deal with what they have. I think it’s not easy for people to live like this no matter if they have been here 1 day or all their life.

    • @@ChochiT0-ddd7fd I’ve been immersed in Badjao culture for over a decade and have visited villages in many parts of the Philippines, and I can say with certainty that the Badjao are truly happy people who are content with their lifestyle despite the hardships they often experience.

    • @@Badjao_Outreach That comment is beyond irresponsible as an organization who works with the Badjao people.

Do you speak any Filipino language? Can you communicate fluently with Badjao people without any need for a translator? Are you an American? Where you from? How long have you “lived” with Badjao people and I mean actually lived with them in their same huts and eaten solely their foods for months with no Jollybees nor Mcdo breaks here and there?

They are not happy in the least. They are showing a fake smile because you are a Cano. Go to actually live with them for months, eat their foods, drink their water, sleep in a hut with 20 of them and speak directly in their language to them, etc .etc. and then we’ll talk.

  • I always ask vloggers why do they always paint the Philippines as nothing but rainbows and puppy dogs. Your showing the real Philippines. The property here is hard to look at some times but is a way of life for many. So when you see people calling Filipinas scammers, think of this video.

    • Yes. The unicorns and pink elephants in most other videos are usually bred and feed foreign institutions. The locals don’t benefit from it much, if at all. Reality still exists outside the 5 diamond resorts

    • Why? Do you see foreigners living in slums? The answer is no. Why some of you people want foreigners to show a life other foreigners are not going to be experiencing or living? There are millions of videos out there documenting all that. Most foreigners know the Philippines is a Third World country and that this level of poverty exist. Some vloggers just film their lives, what interests other foreigners and don’t need to make these type of slum videos. And yes, life is rainbows and puppy dogs in the Philippines if you don’t live in the slums. There are issues foreigners will face like in every Third World country, but nothing that warrants canceling their stay in Ph. Derek is a perfect example of that foreigne/expat. So, don’t live in the slums and you will be fine.

    • I’m not really sure what your trying to say, but if a person is interested in moving here shouldn’t they get the whole picture of the Philippines not just fancy malls and over priced condos.

    • @@David-ng4ut “but if a person is interested in moving here shouldn’t they get the whole picture of the Philippines”

And they get the whole picture. ALL vloggers and I mean absolutely ALL vloggers at some point or another touch on the negatives of the Philippines. They have to because reality will be present at some point or another out there during filming. Problem is that some people want entire channels dedicated to talking about the slums and that nonsense that foreigners and expats are not going to ever experience.

There are plenty of channels out there dedicated to fear mongering the Philippines with generalizations and nonsense, such as The Philippines Truth and its sister channel The Philippines Facts. I have watched hundreds of channels in the Philippines over the years and I have yet to find one that doesn’t touch on the negatives of the Philippines at some point.

    • @@David-ng4ut “not just fancy malls and over priced condos.”

I don’t know which vloggers you are referring to, but if you’ve watched enough videos from the biggest expats in the Philippines, I think it is fair to say that the least type of content they make is about fancy malls and over priced condos. They make informative content, which for some reason some people love to label them “the positive of the Philippines only” content.

    • @@qadventures itโ€™s cool man. Kinda reminds me of those old kung foo movies where they put English over Chinese and the lip movements donโ€™t match the words hahahaha. Idk why I pointed it out to you you obviously know.

  • I know the badjao Iโ€™m probably wrong on the spelling. They are basically Muslims they believe in multiple wives and stuff not sure about much more.

  • Interesting diversity within such a small area of your walk around๐Ÿ˜Š
Iโ€™ll look forward to seeing yourself and the father going fishing๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š

  • If I had the money , I’d pay the people millions of dollars for them to clean up there own city cause it’s bad !๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜Š

    • I would do the same. The Philippines is by far the most amazing and beautiful country on the planet. Mother nature has surely blessed the country with such beauty. I just wish the people would manage their trash properly. So sad to see it happening all over the country.

  • Rubbish all over the place, raw sewerage directly into the water. No wonder they have health issues. In Australia we have a ‘Clean Up Australia Day’ where people from all over the place get together and clean the beaches, major roadways, bushes etc etc… There needs to be some type of way to clean the areas out. Sadly, I’ve seen it all over the Philippines.

    • It’s a Third World country, Jim. Did you forget about that? And put yourself in their shoes. They weren’t born and educated in Australia like you. Why you people come to the jungle to complain about seeing lions and hyenas. I’m having trouble understanding that. There is a guy with an AI voice out there with a couple of channels complaining about life in a Third World country. Unbelievable!

    • @@ChochiT0-ddd7fd I perfectly understand all that but keeping the streets clean comes down to each individual. I love the people in the Philippines, I even have a loving girlfriend. If I could do more to help out, I would. People don’t know how amazing their country is… just keep the streets and waterways clean.

    • We found that out after production and thought the video was worthy enough to upload anyway. Also didn’t want to reproduce it as the 2nd take will be so disgenuine

  • Why is it that AI understands that you don’t speak Tagalog or vasayan that she needs to translate. It seems like on every video the translation tends to be lazy.

    • I did not get that at all He seems to be respectful at all times. Like me I think I am funny when I am not all the time but I always want to make jokes especially when I am unsure. He never seems to laugh at people. He is wanting to put smiles on peoples faces. Would you prefer that he walked around with pitty and sadness?

  • Maybe Shaima should be helped restart her vlogging career? I mean, she will help other girls become vloggers and on an on, which will help the whole community. If she was famous once, then she has it in her.

  • That ex-vlogger (Shyma?) is beautiful, obviously educated and v intelligent. Speaks simply yet with self confidence. Can go far in anything she undertakes given the opportunity. All the best to her.

  • Need to wear your microphone on the outside of you shirt Derek. Sound quality was terrible at time. Not even my subtitles would pick it up properly.

  • Dark side of phillipans๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ, i am soo sock to see these side of the phillipans.. .. and the governmnet is trying to hide these slums using huge baraks..these is worse then a indian slums.. never expected even the phillipans do have these slums.. ,,but the people here is really beautifull.,happy , wecoming .. friendly which is really amazing.. • So nice people ๐Ÿ™‚ Its sad to see how they live. Guess they are so use to it and dont think much about it. Just trying to make the best of it and servive. The city and government dont care ! If they did they would clean up the garbage and see so the poop not went out straight in the water !

    • @@qadventures Read about areas both in Europe and Asia where the city clean up..promise the ppl better housing…not happening…they take the ground to build for ppl with more money and the poor are just trown out ! So corrupt and dishonest !

  • Hi Guys, what people need to do is research the history of these places, as it all stems back to the build up of the cities post war mainly, when the families grandparents from the mountainous regions went to the the coastal lands to find work, but with the influx of labor, and even back then prices to rent anywhere, and with very low wages, they could not afford to rent anywhere, thus they ended up in pockets of communities, scavenging the scrap woods and metal sheeting from where they worked, and built their own cabins and huts, wherever they found desolate lands, mainly lands near the coastline that no one cared for, as time passed, and there wages were still low, as humans do, they multiply and families shall expand, and the new borns do not know what other life is like, they just live in the mess.., and several generations later, with even more people flowing into the bigger cities and communities, this is how you get these places expand, and the government cannot relocate them or help them, as their own policies and infrastructure isn’t adequate for them all. THUS, they get all used to living in shit and waste, generation after generation, many westerner people say why do they have so many children, well, again, it is the countries policies and religion belief’s with contraception and abortion policies etc, plus the married couples know full well, without many children not all survive the harsh living, thus they have lots so the parents have the children to take care of the parents when they are too old to work. To the western eyes and views, it looks terrible disgusting, but for the ones living like this all life, its just normal, and they carry on as one does to survive…

    • Agreed. Research is paramount with any video or other published content. I’ve lived on an island where the Chamorro and Carolinian people reside. In fact, they are the islands’ “Original People.” The ‘First Nation’ of these islands. I’ve lived here for 13 years. As 99% of the information I’ve collected comes primarily from Ameri-Euro intruders (settlers), I am NOT confident enough to produce content about them, their history, their traditions. To do so would deprive people of their accounts of their history free of foreign influence. I must seek their historical accounts from them, not others. This needs to be done by more and more content creators to ensure their videos are as current and up-to-date as possible.

  • at 38.40 she explained that they way they pray is different from the some Filipino (Who r mainly Catholic) do and said to you that they pray to Allah ( God ) . It is crystal clear that they are Muslims but u were not clear enough in asking what was their religion n i guess she wud hv replied 2 u . u gotta do some kind of research n homework before going around n ask questions to such poor n marginalized communities about their culture, history n heritage. ur questions are most inquisitive, pushy n invasive to such poor communities

    • Interesting, but how could they be Muslim if they are an older culture from the Philippines? There were no signs of that, I’ll have to probe further.

If that’s the case it may be a clue about why the government allows such health code ‘violations ‘

    • @@RichGPilot Do your probe further and you will find n discover more things about the tribes that form Filipino nation n culture.
The girl named Shaima has said it n I know for sure by reading history books that the big majority of Badjao communities follow Islam as The Religion.
Today there r almost half a Million Badjaos spread all over Philippines ( Cebu, Leyte, Bohol, Batangas , etc..) but mainly in Mindanao and there r other Badjaos who live in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand.
Like most Filipinos, Badjaos r of Malay race n ethnicity. Their languages are inter related.

    • As mentioned by Derek , most Filipinos worshipped as Muslims until when the Spanish Conquistadores came and they violently subjugated the local Filipino people like they have done in other places like south America., etc…

  • ate ai kuya derek That’s where my father lived with his sisters and brothers when they were young. They now live there and also their parents

  • It’s good to learn about other cultures and document before they are lost and everything is being lost because of the times we live in๐Ÿ˜ฎ it really is amazing how these cultures survived for hundreds or even a couple of thousand years and yet everything being rubbed out in modern time! I also believe that God Almighty in the name of Jesus Christ is gathering his to him he is the only true God and those who believe in his death burial and Resurrection will will will will will have eternal life please believe on Jesus before it’s too late because we see the tribulation coming the New World Order is the platform for Antichrist but those that believe on Jesus Christ with all their heart their sin is Forgiven under his holy blood and we have been promised a mansion in heaven with him we are going up at the sound of a trumpet and the voice of an archangel yes the world is evil and there are too many poor people turn to Jesus and be blessed I share verse by verse bible study on the Whiteboard from the King James 1611 Bible please go to Robert breaker cloud church.org๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š
