If it’s the same guy that scammed you, why can’t you provide their name not based on gels behalf but primarily for what he did to you..You already have the proof of what he did to you.

Im glad I was able to talk some sense to the host I moderate for and prevented her to decline his offer to gain managers access for. But she was close to add him. Thing is, I know that other vlogger as well and know lots more in background and how things flow in the background.
Edit: Indeed he also has managers access to that vlogger who visited Gel sometimes.

I just came upon her channel. Being underage, I was uncomfortable interacting. Some of the comments are creepy. It’s a middle schooler guys. I’m glad someone is helping her. People are naive when it comes to legality’s in the Philippines…money management is non existent. Hopefully some can step in that doesn’t have ill intentions. Exploitation is unacceptable…is the person even American?

it’s a shame that this guy scammed Gel and also Derek (including us who did donate to Qgives) as she should have the money from YouTube to go thru a “Trust” set up by a Lawyer so her money is protected and then a reputable Attorney can distribute the monies properly and can even set it up as like an allowance of a regular amount and invest some of the funds so she has it for the future. her Papa has a good heart but is not savvy in such matters so it is a good thing they reached out to Derek and maybe he can assist in directing them in the right direction.

I watched your first encounter with this lovely young lady and was one of the very first to donate to her. They were very grateful and I continued to support her until I heard that they were taking a different approach than what you had planned originally for her. I wasn’t a fan of anyone dipping into her accounts and taking her money out for small reasons. I didn’t trust the guy who was “managing” her YT. I had a very strange gut feeling he was up to no good but couldn’t prove it. Gel is a wonderful young lady who will succeed in life, for sure. Well done Derek.

@@Ryan-wi3ry why one would not want to manage someone else’s channel, Derek covered already along other things one would not want to get involved with. When things go bad, one cannot be blamed for if there’s no knowledge or access.
I also managed 2 other channels to help out, currently only 1 channel remaining.
But I made sure that I did not received access to sensitive data, like Adsense revenue/account.
I don’t care how much one trust me, I don’t want that kind of access.
It’s self protection in case something happen.
I was real new to social media last yr. This guy reached out to me and I thought it was an opportunity. I brought it up to Anthony as an option for them and an opportunity to opt out. I didn’t manage her channel then because of many reasons including my busy schedule in setting up multiple businesses here. I did remember sharing my skepticism of the channel moderator with Anthony about 2 months in. I believe in free will and they are at liberty to do as they wish

There’s bad people all over the world, but it really takes a low life scum to do this to a child, especially one as sweet and innocent as Angel is. I believe the term Angel was looking for instead of scam would be embezzelment (theft or misappropriation of funds placed in one’s trust or belonging to one’s employer), and the U.S. does have extradition with the Philippines.
This is creepy. The Philippines is very strict when it comes to interactions between foreigners and children. Nobody should be dealing with this girl. Nobody.

I have so many thoughts right now in my head.
First of all, i am happy that the financial situation is solved. I believe in Karma and the bad guy will face that karma in future.
I am also happy that Gel can try so many things she is interested in. I am born and raised in the west but never had this kind of support from my family. So Gels´s parents are a big plus to her life and her future.
Learning to trust or not to trust is a process and this is also a topic where you never get to an end. Its more like learning to see red flags.

The moderator came across my table and I passed the information on to Gel’s father as he is the parent. It’s up to him to decide yay or nay. This is before I suspected the guy with anything.

@davedave, i agree with you on most of these points, i have been watching many YT videos, They never tell you how much they are getting in donation to help others, then you see all the new toys and the addition to their life style, , another example , donations to build at schools, now put on hold ,then you see thousands of dollars in equipment for their self’s, ,I don’t mind donating for worthy causes, but i want the Tubber to be accountable, and not just pocket the money, if things like this keep happing so many people will stop donating and drop their channel .

There is probably a lot more to this story. Some random american is not going to bother scamming someone for $250. The work he put in is worth ten times that amount. It just sounds like he does this as side projects and doesnt really put much effort into the communication or contract details. He is probably just paying for his expenses and doesnt want to waste even more effort on explaining every detail. This is why all these intermediate sites that get into the money flow are ill advised. Simply post a stand alone bank name, and account number and anyone who wants to give can wire money directly into that account with zero middlemen and zero percentages except a small transfer fee. Or gcash number, etc. That is the only way I send to anyone overseas. None of this “buy a coffee” or whatever that takes ten percent.
Yeah they should just post their GCash and make people aware they can use various online services to send with no fees taken out. The one I use starts with “Remit”, but you can’t post the full name here or YouTube will censor it.

I like your videos but I have a big issue with the fact that you refuse to call out a person by name that stole from you and also stole from Gel. You should believe her when she says she was scammed when in fact this man scammed you as well. My next question is why didn’t you inform her family when he started scamming you of your website funds when you know she was using the same person? You protecting his identity just means you passed up on an opportunity to protect others from being scammed by this same man. Very disappointing to see people protecting criminals.
Derek, I’d collect all the facts first. I can’t imagine anyone who has technical knowledge or can build websites would bother scamming some impoverished family over a couple hundred bucks. That doesn’t sound like it makes any sense. If they did, that’s truly bottom of the barrel level of evil.
