  • Hi U 2👋!! Back from my Alaskan Cruise 🚢 & now recovering ❤️‍🩹 from Covid-19 😷!! Will be catching up on your Jungle Adventure videos Next 👍. Cool Sari Sari Store👍. Hopefully catch you BUDHA D & AI on next livestream. Blessings 🙏🌸🌼🌺

  • I wouldn’t mind opening a Sari Sari store. I have convenience store experience, but it’s a saturated market. One thing you guys could do with a Sari Sari store is also have a specialty drink. Anthony could hook it up with the bananas for smoothies. Do you remember how good Orange Juliius used to be?

    • I agree. Have that 1 or 2 items that others don’t offer. Make it unique enough that customers would go to your store over a competitor

  • Who will wake in the morning everyday to buy groceries? You need to wake up at 4am. You must go everyday early before store opens. The store must be open 12hrs a day to make a tiny profit. You always need a cashier at register at all times and a boss. You always need some kind of FREASH PRODUCE OR EGGS, which bring in repeat customers everyday. I have had several friends tell me the really make no $ at all because it is so many hours and you literally make only pesos each sale. Competition makes you keep prices extremely low. I watched this channels for over a year… Lots adventures in the Phillippines. Watch her old videos, maybe 3 years ago when she had that store. She had a store. She did evertlything correctly while running it. After about 3 years she closed because it was 15hrs a day and her profit wss extremely low. Best job there is BECOMING A NURSE and moving to USA. Next best, become nurse and move to another country. It is better off working for a wage for someone else. Store amazon store because you ca buy an item 1 and sell for 18. Hi profit. If you are still interested, the best thing you could do is watch every video of. Lot. It will teach you everything. I had a US business for 10 yrs. It was the hardest work, closed because of covid. Best of luck, just trying to give you a little heads up about what is the real truth.

  • I always thought if a woman just had a channel where she PUT HER MAKEUP ON EVERDAY. That is all she does, nothing else. And, she talks to her watchers and becomes their best friend. It would work. Little by little she gets ladies to follow her. Little by little it gets bigger. Idea is, everyday her follows consider her as a good friend. Later start selling makeup. Makeup can be high profit. Best…

    • That approach is good. However, for that approach to work, there must be a level of interaction or customer service.

  • Very interesting topic- my brother-in-law has a sari-sari store too. When I have mentioned ideas for differentiating his store from others he is less than enthusiastic (even if i am willing to cover any cost involved) and I would love to understand that more. I also don’t get that stores in general seem to locate proximate to their competitors- I saw a video recently with Army-Navy type stores and there were a bunch of them all in the same area and building even. Maybe with time I will understand it more.

    • Everyone wants to open a store and sell the same items. They are not big money makers. Give up trying to offer advise. They won’t listen

  • reason i like the Philipines because certain thing there kinda similar to my country,im from the caribbean. In my country sari sari store is call a shop, they’re about 15 in my community alone.

    • And if you factor in the effort in going to get the merchandise from the market, 100-200 pesos minus well be on the negative

  • Is real coffee common there or only the instant stuff? Only at the coffee shops? Here in NY the instant stuff is more expensive. And tastes so much worse.

    • @Q Adventures ok. Thanks. As a somewhat of a coffee snob, not like I need a Starbucks, but I grind my beans every morning and appreciate a good cup. Even when I was in the Army I couldn’t drink that instant stuff. Glad you are back from the jungle in 1 piece. The “old ways” are normally the best ways. Get as much knowledge as you can from the elders. Once that info is lost it’s gone forever.

  • Interesting topic 👍 I say if it makes you happy. 😀 Do it. A happy life is worth it’s weight in Gold 👍

  • The lists are like a running tab. I’ve noticed that its not so much about the profit, but it’s supporting the area with easier access to certain items. But yes they do make a small profit. I would have an extension to the sari sari, like an eatery ( or tiny BBQ stand) or something like Angel’s family sells banana chips.

  • I tried this before with my fiance to start a business selling stuff and it was an absolute nightmare. They didn’t understand about keeping books and writing everything down and keeping track of purchases and selling. I’m definitely not trying to be mean to Filipinos but they have absolutely no business sense whatsoever. Thank God I did not invest too much money but if I would ever open a food shop or store like that I would definitely want to make sure I was there in person to make sure they do what they’re supposed to. I truly do not understand how they run businesses. I think that’s why most of the Filipino businesses do not make a big profit and they’re scraping by thank you so much for this video. It just showed me i was correct in my decision hahaha

  • Had a friend that had a small store in the US he made decent money but eventually sold it he said if you want a job where you never have a day off that’s the one to get into he tried hiring people that was a disaster got robbed left and right even had one employee that staged an armed robbery with her boyfriend they didn’t know he had a hidden camera in the store 😂

  • don, t asking the gain of sari sari store They are looking only by the wallet, what they have inside How much they earned nobody knows

  • Impossible for us to not have a detailed inventory list with records, but the Filipino way is probably great for your well-being. Because I have never seen a stressed out sari sari story owner 😅

  • I don’t think it’s that important for them to keep records. It’s not like here in the states where you collect a sales tax and send it to the state. Plus paying income tax and State tax.

  • I think one part doesnt have financial expertise and dont realize that they mostly work so the balance in the end is zero.
The other part just have their filipino bahayniyan in mind and are just helping the barangay with access to products in walking distance and in smaller portions so those who earn very little can get along at least a bit.
You can maybe make the revenue better when you also sell homemade goods that the people are interested in, you can get more profit out of that.

  • my personal observation , they barely make profit of course they have a small margin on everything they sell so there are profits.. but once you calculate the items they consume themselves its about playing even… and tbh they have not much to doanythin else anyway time is on their hands. so instead of siting at home and don’t earn anything at least they break even and have the opportunity to have a refrigerator running and have a snack so now and then. that’s why you see a lot of sarisari stores connected to a living room or people basically living in a sarisari. the time and effort doesn’t really count as a investment at least not the way we would see it from a western point of view. about the competition they don’t really worry because every peso they make is another peso saved on their own expenses that’s also why they don’t keep track of the profits. in my opinion its not really to make big profits its just another way of surviving. and as long as they can restock n their opinion they are doing fine. all the sarisari stores are just selling the same because the local people only have money to buy the basics so there is no market for better quality or diversity of products. in my opinion Filipino people are very close minded and don’t really care about diversity its simply a luxury they can not afford. well that’s just my opinion. i was wondering and was curious about this subject to. love this video and the channel Derek ! keep up the good work
