  • Derek, if my plan A does not work out, please feel free to do this again. I love to see this community have a bit of joy. 👍🏼♥️🇨🇦

    • Hi Jan. Your plan A is in motion. Just real slow coming. EdMarie is actually living with us now as a working student helping out with Nathalie.

We have taken her for a cleaning and x-ray. A lot of her teeth needs to be pulled, but I wanted a second opinion. She is only 17, pulling her teeth doesn’t seem to be the best option if they can grind it down and crown it

    • @@qadventures I am so pleased that she is in your care. My father was a Dentist and always believed that teeth should be saved if at all possible so you are right to question. Thanks for caring so much! 👍🏼♥️🇨🇦

  • Big thanks to John and of course to Derek and Ai for the organization of this event. You spend more than 100 good evenings with good food.

Stay safe and take care ❤

  • I would like to talk to you about tea hing them to raise food , it’s awesome to give but also alsome to help them raise and share let me know if you are interested

  • Husband speaking age 81 1/2 it is Thursday here in Blaine, Wash. just 10 miles to the Canadian boarder. It is 3:30 pm Pacific time and 75 degrees. That was a wonderful gesture from John and your help to see it done right. 😊❤

  • It’s summer in the US. I think that’s why your viewers decreased. It was cool that John picked you to help him.

  • Have you met Aaron from Off grid Island Family and his wife Jhaja yet? They are John’s friend. Good people.

  • Am curious how you advertised this event. NM, said you told just one person? Awesome. Cordova am guessing that is on Mactan Island. Very generous of your Subscriber, John. Will check out Explorer in Asia. Thanks for posting, Derek…Jim

  • I just got thru watching your latest video here and I was wondering something. You might have mentioned it in the video but if you did I didn’t catch it. Is the guy involved (George) and the YouTuber (Explorer in Asia) an item? In other words did they hook up and her YouTube career and this event grow out of them hooking up as a couple? Also if so did George first coming to the Philippines start with him being a subscriber and staying with you when he came there? Also if the answer to those first two questions were yes did you play a role in introducing them? I ask one because I enjoy seeing a foreigner come to the Philippines andd find love but I enjoy it even more if that union of foreigner and Filippina leads to them as part of their courtship doing something that benefits the community. In this video and another recent video, you’ve featured subscribers who found love but then also how that love led to things that benefits more then just the foreigner and the Filippina. I also liked that while both men found happiness with beautiful Filippinas it wasn’t that story that seems to happen too often of a much older foreigner hooking up with a too young Filippina such that the one who benefits most is the guy for getting a relationship he could never get anywhere else and then to a lesser degree the Filipinna. I really hate those videos because it just feels so predatory and wrong but both the stories you’ve shared lately seem so beautiful and beneficial to the larger Filippino community. Then I heard that your viewership is down and as a result you can’t do as much as in the past. Which I’m sorry to hear but it got me to thinking of an idea that might help you, your subscribers looking for that love connection and the larger Filippino community. Now I know you don’t like having anything to do with a foreigner and a Filippina hooking up but hear me out on this. What if subscribers coming to the Philippines and staying with you, after passing whatever “smell” test you wanted to give it, were introduced to a perspective Filippina by you and AI and then as part of their courtship you encourage them to do some kind of charitable event like this one as part of their courtship which in turn you get to film for content to help your channel? This would create a situation where you would indirectly help create more charity for the locals and it would give you a chance to have your thumb on the scale a bit to help the foreigner find a good age, appropriate Filippina who will be a good partner for him. If it all works out it’s a win for your subscriber, a win for the Filippina, a win for your channel and a win for the local community. A win/win/win/win situation. That’s 4 wins and no loses which is a rare but beautiful thing. Anyway that’s the idea anddd if you would rather not because you just don’t feel comfortable in any sort of match making role I understand. Also if you like the basic idea but would want to put a different spin on it I understand that too. I just thought it might be a good idea to help more people and help with your channel. Sorry for the usual long post by me.

    • Well Mark… John arrived here last yr only as a subscriber renting my scooter. Not a guest in our home. I don’t remember meeting the man personally as Ai was the person that assist him. I met Jona for the 1st time on this video and despite how she looks from her Asian genetics, she is a consenting adult and I don’t have 1st hand knowledge of their relationship

We do have subscribers that have found love while tagging along with our journeys and even while we are filming content. But you are correct, we don’t want to be involved in love connections as it can get messy especially on the filipina side. When a filipina’s heart breaks, it shatters and the entire family going back 20 generations will be involved. If they can’t find the person who broke her heart, WE will have to live with the consequences despite the “foreigner” being a complete stranger and only come here as a viewer or subscriber.

Amongst other Amazon based companies, quite a few dating sites have reached out offering a very handsome comp plan to promote them. I have declined them all as I don’t want to attach myself to that.

Finding a partner is not difficult here, and like everywhere else, the right partner takes time. Ai is the 9th person I have met when I arrived in the Philippines July 2022. And we are getting ready to celebrate our 2nd yr of being together. So you put 2 and 2 together.

As for the “acts of kindness” gig… I believe in genuinity. I don’t want to coerce, convince, or reward good behavior…. it should be done with honesty and naturally. I hope I didn’t offend you by what I say but I thought your message warrants an extensive rebuttal

  • I e-met John and Jona on another YouTuber’s channel but no matter where John goes, the man is all heart. John is as genuine as they come. Great Teamwork there Mr Derek. Cheers, Jim

  • I want to do charity when i’m going to stay in the Phils but what bothers me most in (similar) videos is the total lack of gratitude. People just grab-and-go. I know circumstances are hard and people have pride but in the long run it would really bother me. No one has to be overly thankful but some eye contact or a small headnod would go a long way.

    • You are at liberty to interpret it as that. From my observation (which I hope you accept) is that most are embarrassed with their English abilities and feel intimidated by us. From experience, when I make chit chat, they are very receptive

  • Hello.May i know the name of the dentist that he had referred foreigners to here in lapulapu?May I have her number pls?

  • Many Blessings John, Derek, Ai and Jona 👏👏👏
Hope you’re ok Ai you looked stressed whilst the food was given out 🫶🏼
