  • II don’t think he is healthy enough for the trip to the UK .. getting strong enough for manila should be the goal. And he wants stay in the Philippines.

I’ve been waiting for this update video. Thanks

  • He’s gonna need accommodation when he arrives and plenty of winter clothes . Someone has to meet him .

  • has anyone tried the local embassy?? I’m sure they could guide an assist with the process because of Ken’s situation.

    • @clayholmes6147 I think they were talking about it taking about 3 to 4 months and that’s a long time for his current situation so they are looking for a way to expedite the process if possible.

  • If he can get too manila and get reinstated with ssa they will have to back pay him for what they owe him from the time they cut him off so that could solve his financial problems but he will have to have a bank acct to receive the funds if he gets 1000 a month and they cut him off 12 months ago that’s 12,000 dollars that would go a long way in the phillipines England might not be his best option if he’s got benefits in the US then he has Medicare A and probably part B if they were taking that out of his benefits wherever he goes he’s probably going to need longterm care and social services to wade through the beaurocracy of getting all this straightened out don’t really see a return trip to the phillipines in his future he just doesn’t seen capable of handling things on his own and as he said no family and unfortunately there’s alot of people that prey on people like him

  • Hi I’m a fIlipina British living here in Uk , I wanna help Him as soon as he arrive here in Heathrow airport

    • Please give Derrick your information so he can and we can feel comfortable turning this elderly over to you ..Please don’t take it wrong but it’s some crazy people in the world these days.🙏🏽👍🏼

    • another Good Hearted person as Derek and Ai attract the same as we can feel and tell how Sincere and real he is as his vlogg is jus t a means for Good people to gather who wish to help others. god Bless you for your commitment in being part of ken’s journey Home which would be a much better place for him in his current health.

    • The Welsh Council need to be contacted as he will need accommodation he might end up at hospital and get discharged and end up on the streets. Let’s hope his USA pension can be sent to him in the UK quickly as he will end up living in a hostel with a load of drug addicts. His extremely vulnerable so maybe once this story gets know about socal services can be waiting to meet him.

  • I’m working in the hospital here but in North East England but I want to try to get help for him as soon as he arrives here, please keep it posted . I’ll try to talk to someone if he needs help. and I think the best option as well is to let the British Embassy in Manila about his situation there and I’m sure they will help him and they can get a social worker to look after him as soon as he arrive here. Because in here in UK 🇬🇧 we look after the people and if you’re in the hospital specially old people they gonna look for accommodation before discharging them to make it sure that they are safe

  • Hope and pray that he can able to get thru it… hopefully too that the Embassy of British organize assessment for him thru the hospital back in London🙏

  • If he’s stranded at the airport, after he has cleared immigration he needs to approach security, explain that he is destitute , they will then contact social services to take care of him.

There are boat loads of illegal immigrants coming int Enland every day, They are accomodated in four star hotels and given medical Attention.
I, imagine Ken, as an expatriate will be well taken care of.🤞

    • Well said but don’t bank on him getting help as yjr illegals have put a strain on the whole system, costs millions, I do hope he gets help I really do but don’t trust uk system as its broken

    • Thank you for your support. I think keeping it simple at this stage is best. Overcomplication will lead to more delays

  • He looks more alert and wide eyed. I hope he’s nourished completely and back on his feet. Bless you Ken and wife for helping this man! You’re making a big difference for this guy and I’m sure he’s ever so grateful! 🙏🏽❤️

  • Hello I live in Bristol UK which is about 2 hours from Heathrow Airport. I may be able to collect him from the airport and perhaps take him to a hospital here.

    • Oh… you are an angel, Andy. May I ask you to reach out via WhatsApp or messenger +1-626-626-6347 so I may have a direct contact saved?

  • Just that little bit of extra protein and carbs seems to almost have done wonders. He looks so much better than before! Even more coherent. Thank u for helping him and doing what u can.

    • Trouble is the sicker he gets the less he wants to eat, its a vicious circle especially for the elderley, get well soon Ken. I hope the long flight home doesn’t affect him too much thats if the airline will accept him. Best wishes to you all. Its a great thing your doing!!

  • Brother….gotta tell you your heart gotta be the biggest heart. You and Ai are a Godsend for Ken. He is already 100% better for knowing you. I live in Quezon city, but if ever in your neck of the woods it would be my honor to buy you both dinner. God bless and stay safe.

    • We have an open door policy and have never turned down an opportunity to meet a supporter. Thank you for the praise🙏

  • I think his is heading to the wrong direction… He should go to the U.S. instead of London, U.K.
1.)His unclaimed pension is in the U.S.
2.) Speaking of his medical needs, he will also be covered in the U.S. under medical for people over 65yrs. can get medical help too.
3.) He can also be referred by his U.S. social worker to a group homes for the elderly.

    • His unclaimed pension is in the UK and his social also in the US, he was a citizen of both countries, the UK has free health care for all UK citizens including Ken since he paid into the National health service and is entitled to free care for his contribution towards that. As for his housing needs he is also classed as vulnerable since he’s a pensioner and will be taken care of by nursing staff and social workers to help with housing and after care as needed.

  • Hi St. Thomas’s Hospital is well respected hospital in London. He will not be turned away, good luck Ken!!

    • Ken needs to be admitted into hospital as soon as he arrives into UK. I think he will recive intravenous drip to build up his strengths let’s hope things are speedy towards his future. Thanks to Derreck.

  • he needs to apply for his uk state pension, he could do that online if somebody could help him, he will still be entitled to it, no matter how long he lived in the states

  • Hi Derek, i have subscribed to your channel just now, especially after watching both your videos and the help you are giving to poor Kevin from Wales. Also i am in the process of watching your interacting with the nice villagers at Mactan waterfront. Well done Derek, you present an interesting and informative programme with a bit of humour. LJ was very helpful and Julie’s brother. For me as an English speaking person i would feel very comfortable chatting to both of them. My wife is Filipina and we have property at Sogod Cebu where we have resided for several years but right now we are temporarily in my home country New Zealand. Hope to make your acquaintance one day Derek, when we return to Cebu. My very good friend is Rod, ‘Amazing Philippines’, YT channel. Bob and Lina. NZ

    • Welcome to my channel,Bob and Lina!!! I have a video on here that I tried to purchase 10 hectares in Sogod. As far as meeting, I have an open door policy and had not turn away any subscribers thus far. I feel it’s a privilege to meet my supporters

  • He will be looked after here in the UK 🇬🇧 we have a good health system and social security system,

He is a elderly gentleman with health problems so he is top priority, the council will set him up with someplace to live they will put him in temporary accommodation, he needs to go to the hospital to have his health problems treated.
    God bless him 🙏

    • I wrote some words on there to inform viewers that rain got into my mic and corrupted the sound. I sincerely apologize as I have done my best using an editor to block out as much static noise as I can

    • You can see that he is going to need some help or assistance in London. If i were him i would go directly to the hospital and tell the Doctor the whole situation and admit him in London Hospital to wait and try to find an old age Home. Main diagnoses blindness and lack of autonomy. I don’t know if he is strong enough to walk around for hours or if he also need a wheel chair? I do believe your comments and personal information on Ken would also be of great help to the doctor also. It would just clarify the whole situation and his immediate needs. 🤔 ❤ 👍 👁

    • Ok, the sound was not that great. I hope when it dries up it can function better with no distortion.@Q Adventures

    • @Q Adventures no problem – it’s just a minor issue, you are doing excellent job!!

btw some 20y ago I was diving with my first digital camera Kodak at sea, but my “water proof” foil leaked and I was shocked how only a few drops of sea water send my camera to silicon heaven 😆

  • if he has to fly may be best to take to Manilla and juat stop at social security office 1st before flight to get that money flowing again.

    • To accomplish that, he needs an escort and allow a total stranger access to his personal info. I rather him get to London asap and have his social worker there with a level of fiduciary responsibility to assist him. I have raised enough money for him to have some pocket money before boarding his flight

  • I think the other option is just send him to Manila instead of London and get an appt with the U.S. Embassy so his social security will get reinstated. And if he has not been paid for a long time then he would get retro active pay which will add up and he will get a lot of money. I just have a feeling if he goes back to London he will end up in the street homeless. With the system now the hospital will discharge him and end up out in the street homeless.
If he is send to Manila at least the travel flying is 1 hour only and just look for a cheap hotel. When he gets his retroactive money, he will have enough money for his health expenses in the Philippines. If you got donation for $700 I think that is enough for him to travel to Manila. Coz in London you need more money than that…..Just trying to help for other option..I think he goes back to London he will be really lost……..Maybe you could help him get an appt at the U.S embassy ….for his social security…😪😪I think the average SS is about $1200 a month…so lets says he has not received it for a year then 1200×12 months..just my estimate, he will have enough money for his treatment in the Philippines.

    • Thank you, but not an option. He is not usa citizen rather UK. going to Manila requires him to have an escort and he had no one here. At least back in the UK, he has access to social workers with a level of fiduciary responsibility over having a total stranger have access to his personal information

  • flights to the UK stop over at Dubai there is no direct flight as far as im aware i checked, it takes 19 hours to get to the UK from cebu

  • Ken needs foods which have a lot of protein, forget the damn white rice. Also dairy products such as milk, cheese and eggs. Replace the damn rice with potaoes and fresh veggies and fresh fruits….

  • He’s looking a lot stronger and more alert. I think contacting the UK embassy and arranging for someone to meet him might be his best option. There are folks here in your comment section also volunteering to help him. Well I guess we had better wait until he gets checked out first to see what, if any, health issues he has. Good job Derek and AI, thanks for caring. 👍🌴

  • mate honestly he shouldn’t go to London unless he is getting the train to Wales, London is no place for someone in is condition, its not like he knew it 34 years ago, even i don’t travel to London

  • im trying to answer the questions as they come up, you can only go to A&E they will then decide whether to admit you or not after they give you a medical, other than that you have to be referred by a doctor

  • Hi you are a wonderful person ! Our lives have no meaning as long as we can do nothing for others!
Thank you for be a helpful human in this world/situation

  • I thought he works in the united states and drawing sss from the states is he going to get the pension from uk or usa

    • He lived in the USA for 30+ years. He was a travelling musician. Singing in a barbershop quartet. In the UK he worked in construction

    • I am certain he won’t make it back. But I feel not to take his hope away at this point in his health condition as I don’t know it for a fact. Getting home is priority

    • Yes. Thank you Charlie. I am oblivious to dietary stuff. I did say meat protein and I have been providing

  • Eggs are excellent source of protein but he definitely needs medical care. Can’t he not go the British embassy to reestablish that he is still alive so that he’s money will issued back to him. For now, he needs to be seen/diagnosed by a doctor and be prescribed meds. Let me know how I can provide help.

  • I think you should get Ken to Manilla and sort out his social security first, I think he will get any payments not made since his last one after he fills out his paperwork.
That will help him with money to go to the UK. Best of luck to you Ken and thanks for your efforts Derek.

  • Do he has a family still to be with when he’s going back home?
Thank you for your so much concern with Him, We are happy that there are still good people with a good heart like you.
    God bless you more🙏🙂❤

  • Best if he his taken straight to the hospital for a check up and our hospitals have social workers and they wont let him leave until they have a place for him to live.

    • Airlines provide special assistance to the elderly but have to be informed beforehand. This includes wheelchairs, immigration clearance and diet restrictions.

  • You and your wife and the rest of the Filipino/Filipina communities are the most beautiful and amazing people! My heart goes out to you all and especially Ken! Rainbow City, Alabama, U.S.A…

  • Hi if you would like I can give you some help with his s.s. I have a number for s.s. in Brownsville Texas and a woman’s name that can help you. Don’t call the 800 number they will not help you. That letter can be done by email and his benefits will be reinstated in 2 or 3 days. Let me know if you want the number and name.

  • You be surprised how a lack of food and friendship can do damage to your body. I pray he gets the help he needs Thank you!❤🙏🏽👍🏼

    • He is. More and more supporters are gaining by the minute. Only since I started my vlog did I realize how many beautiful hearted people there are out there

  • To be honest , I don’t think Ken will enjoy being stuck in a nursing home . Better off staying in Philippines.

  • God bless you Ken, God bless you Derek and God bless Bernadette and her family 🙏🙌🩷 GOOD LUCK 🍀🍀🍀🇵🇭♥️

  • God Bless Derek and Ai for your assistance with Ken, I’m American and he needs someone in Britain to guide him as you mentioned. I wish Ken the best

  • Ken was so nice to say he wanted to donate money to Derrick was so thoughtful..❤ Derrick is a upstanding man he declined Mr Ken money..💯🙏🏽👍🏼

  • While you are realizing his overstay must be handled with Immigrations and fines penalties etc must be paid in full prior to your idea of ticketing Ken to London, He will not be allowed to fly out without an EEC! Best to have something reality and truth on the UK London side stating if he goes to a Hospital or is even admitted etc, that he will be taken care of from that moment on FIRST. I saw a UK Darrel Mileham fly back in similar fashion sleeping outside in very cold areas when he first arrived back to UK. Eventually, UK Health helped situate him. Maybe make sure by facts Ken will not be stuck outside like that.

  • Why does he need a visa to leave the country? Isn’t the penalty for overstaying one’s visa expulsion from the country?

  • My Godbless those people who is willing and voluntarily offer help to him…pls kep helping him until everything is ok…my our Good Lord help u Q and ur gf Godbless and i am not skipping ur adds….❤❤❤much love

  • Derrick you are the angel God sent for Ken! God bless you Derrick and your family ❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏

  • Entire story odd, Ken’s girl conned him out of his life savings and stole his debit card. I. wonder how many are involved in this con

    • Basically his live in ex GF left him after he paid for her medical bills. Then another couple fleeced him for whatever was left. He reached out to a friend and was denied help. He’s a good guy, met him many times. He loves to sing and plays a little guitar. Problem was he was living away from other expats and lost most of his vision. Covid made life very difficult and then he lost his pension.

    • Just hope none of those in his past persuaded him to unknowingly sign document(s) so that his USA social security and or UK pension are being unknowingly deposited in another bank account, with someone being authorized to his bank account.

  • If they do send them to london?? Or anywhere else to have connecting flights… I sure hope to have somebody to look after this Man Is correct airplane.. And when he reached his destination.. I believe we need someone At the end of this destination.. So he will not end upon the streets.. Of london..

    • Airport staff will provide a wheelchair and assistance. I also have a subscriber from London that offered to pick him up from airport on arrival and drop him at hospital

  • Free medical in USA, he is over 65 and can access medicare. He needs a Nursing Home, and he needs somone with him on plane. He has dementa, and needs to be in a nursing home.

  • Uk pension can be sent to uk bank account or foreign bank account. Ken just needs someone he can trust to help him get his uk pension sorted and us ss. He should go see a doctor in Phil asap for assessment/treatment. Not convinced just going back to the UK would get everything sorted or if he would even survive the flights.

    • He doesn’t have anyone and a fiduciary responsibility is one I cannot inherit. He wants to go home so I can do that for him thereafter, there are social workers that can help him sort all that out

    • You are doing a great job with helping people. Thanks for publicising Kens situation and bringing him back to life!

    • @armunro that’s how I can do more of what I do. The more views I have on my videos, youtube pays me more and I funnel that money back into philanthropy

  • they would have support agency and contacts for housing and transport with him being a UK citizen. I surprised they were not involved as soon as his pension had stopped.

  • he has have someone go with him to do all this his caregiver has to go with him.
uk has aid for citizen he a duel citizen of usa and uk. he be able get health insurance from britian his home nation they give out 800 pounds a month to citizens and usa he suppose get his ssa from usa for 40 yrs of working in california.

he need go manila to get his ssa back on when he go and he can get aid from uk on ssa there for working there-everything
well hope ken have success he live rest his life good and get healthcare and food. he proberly need more food and fluids to get better. yea the lady that help him need to go with him to uk. he dont need be like david in the phillipians did and rose so worried about him on going back to usa everyone say he are had someone go with him.

always best someone go with a person ill to on a airplane plus go see doctors help the person on everything to do
god bless everyone that helped him and everything.

  • Nice …..if you need further help ask Senator Raffy….Beef soup (Bulalo) less salt or tinola chicken .🙏🙏🙏🙏your good a man . God Bless👁️👏👏👏👏👏👏

  • Derrick your a man with a big heart. Have been watching your videos for a few months and you are a person that really cares for others.

    • I do my best. Just easier here to do what I do as people here appreciate it and not look for a lawsuit opportunity

  • I may be wrong, but I thought his Social Security was with the United States, not Great Britain. If so, the US Consulate in Cebu City may be able to help.

    • He overlooked his proof of life letter response. Restoration is simple but my priority is for him to go home to mitigate his health. His social worker would help him with the rest. I don’t want to have access to his personal information as it is a responsibility I cannot bear

  • If he is able to restart his USA social security benefits and or his UK pension in a timely manner – (thinking out loud) would he better off getting his medical care in the Philippines? That way he gets his wish of being in the Philippines?

However, he did say he wanted to go back home to London.

Like many of us foreigners, I get the impression he too wants his end of life to be in the Philippines (amongst Filipinos and their kindness and the respect Filipinos have for the elderly).

He is in my thoughts and prayers.

    • No, he wouldn’t be. Medical facilities are a little behind here and extremely expensive for more unique diagnosis. His Healthcare back home would be far advanced and free

  • Good on you for helping ken, the UK PM Richie sunak won’t help unless its his relative or there is a bribe in it typical bent politican

    • We made quite a bit of progress in such a short period of time. 1st video, he was so defeated. Now he has a ray of hope and spirits high

  • I consider it an Honor to have met you and be part of your community as it has Always been evident you are an exceptionally Good Kind hearted person as you attract others who are also like minded just as all of your assistance in connecting people as even the Great Mayor there recognizes this as do all the other Filipino’s in the community like Lynn, Bernardita and lady from mayors office. Getting Ken back safely to London is top priority as already you can see how his health is better . Thanks for all you do as this has taken allot of your time, effort, and contacts to give him the Hope he can get home and get assistance he needs

  • I know a great deal about the DWP I’m the uk and he probably will not get a pension from the uk as he told you before he was working in the USA so he paid into the US system not the UK. If he comes back to the UK as he holds uk citizenship but hes been out of the UK over 11 years so he’s passport has expired I’m assuming. I hope the Philippines doesn’t have the same rules like Thailand as you telling his story would put him behind bars. He wouldn’t last 5 mins in prison so I hope the government show him compassion.

  • What’s his current immigration status here in the Philippines PROVE IT !!!!! He’s old and he’s sick but I suspect he’s a scammer been here 30+ yrs he’s not the first guy I seen like this there are MANY MANY here

    • @Q Adventures no, just talk to ambassade, if sick they will help, and have the rigth connektion to emigration? I have same problem, talked to the Danish ambassade, and I went back to denmark, just i have to pay my own ticket? Ambassade dont help with money, only talk to emigration, and no problem from them. Stefan

    • The issue on hand is more complex. And British embassy was contacted (not by me) and was told 3 to 4 month que

    • @Q Adventures hi again! Will they not have a brithish consul in cebu? For i used danish consul in kepels building in cebu and they call the ambassade in manila.

    • @stefmads4832 Bernadetta’s son started the process with them and I will talk to him directly on Monday. I can’t have he said she said conversations and act on inaccurate info

  • He has been away from the UK for how many years 30+ ?

Probably better to speak with the British Embassy and explain his situation before sending him back to the UK.

  • Did they raise money on the go fund me?

I live in uk. If theres enough money i suggest he has money for hotels for 2 weeks.
Theres a system in place for homeless.
His lack of sight and fraility hopefully helps thrm house him right away

He needs to go to housing department in london. He will need his id. We have duty of care to house vulnerable homeless. I suggest he tells them he cant barely see so he cant be on the street homeless. Homeless men dont get priority to get hotels usually in uk its women first and families with kids.

they should hopefully give him a hotel, or a bed and breakfast room via housing dept he will get gousing benefit to cover the hotel room or hostel.

He needs to contact social work as soon as he gets back. He needs a social worker. I can help call them if he needs someone with sight. My gran was blind i understand how hard it is without sight. I will help him puy him in touch with housing dept and social work.

Its important he doesnt come back with zero money so he has way to eat and have sonewhere to sleep until housing department and social work help him. I can help call them email me.

  • Your a good man, your video popped up on my feed of men,it broke my heart,so glad you did all this for him thank you.Subscribed from the UK

  • Honestly, better if he goes to Manila to work his social security issues. There is no social security office in Wales for USA issues. He will get full back pay too….to pay his over due visa fees…which will be big after 2 years…..Someone could help him call social security on the phone too….Manila is user friendly in my experience….in social security….I am not sure he is well enough to go to Manila alone, doubtful

  • yes, he will be o.k if he goes to hospital but will be good to have his national medical number and national insurance number for benefits etc.

  • I wonder what kind of life he led when he was younger. Did he come to the Philippines to be a sexpat? Does he have a criminal record?

  • Good Luck Ken and Hats off to Q Adventures Fantastic Job get him to Cardiff City and the South Wales Echo Top story

  • Thank you for your warm heart that your help him and also to update to Ken now and such a kind of your loving heart and thank you so much

  • A big pat on the back to you for all you are doing to help Ken. I don’t think he would have lasted much longer without your help. Hopefully with good food he will recover his health and be able to return to Wales.
A lot of folk condemn people like Ken for coming to the Ph and ending up like him. One of the problems in the west nowadays is loneliness. Living alone is sole destroying. Friends and neighbours have their own lives to live and can’t spare the time. I think that is why a lot of older guys come to the Ph to meet someone to end their loneliness, Unfortunately, they get into financial trouble after meeting the wrong kind of friends.

  • He need somebody to bring it to the Manila and to look after him to the hospital then to guide home everything his need then someone to bring it to the airport and until to the plane inside most someone there to help him and thank you for your kindness love to him ❤

  • If you can get him to the Social Security office in Manila so he can prove he is alive, he will get retroactive payment for all the months he didn’t receive his check. This will be more than enough to pay for flight to UK.

  • I think you’re talking too fast and he’s not getting most of what you’re saying he doesn’t seem to completely comprehend or understand what you’re trying to tell him so maybe you need to slow down when you’re talking to him bless you and your beautiful gorgeous wife for helping this man you have a big heart and yeah, you got a temper, but you know may be dealing with this man will help you learn to control your temper, because he seems to be such a gentle soul. God bless you for helping this blessed soul. You not only put a smile on his face you are going to get him home…..

  • He’s actually safe in the Philippines. How can he survive the cold? He doesn’t have a place to stay when he got there?

    • I believe that’s what he wants. I suppose eventually, when vulnerable we long for the familiar.
It could also have to do with healthcare, if he still has his UK social security number he will get 100% free healthcare. So no hospital bills to worry about.

  • Oh just thought of this i think paul old dog has a kindof inside connection at ssa there might help things get expedited with getting him reinstated with his benefits

  • I made a donation on Wednesday but for whatever reason I was not able to specify that it was made to support this gentleman.
