Interview with Mika: A Glimpse into the World of a 20-Year-Old Filipina
By PinayWise
PinayWise (PW): Hey Mika! Thanks for taking the time to chat with me today. Can you start by sharing a little bit about your daily life?
Mika: Hi PinayWise! Salamat for having me. Every day is a little different, but typically, I wake up early, around 6 AM, do some light stretching, and then start my day with a cup of local Filipino coffee. I’m a third-year university student, so most of my day revolves around classes, study sessions, and group projects. And of course, spending time with my friends and family whenever I can!
PW: Ah, the life of a university student! Speaking of which, how do you feel about your university experience so far?
Mika: Itโs been a roller-coaster, honestly. While I love the learning aspect and meeting diverse people, the pressure can be overwhelming. Thereโs so much emphasis on grades, but I believe university should be more about holistic growth. On the plus side, it’s taught me time management and how to handle stress!
PW: Great perspective! University is certainly more than just books and exams. On a lighter note, how’s the dating scene for you?
Mika (giggling): Oh! Thatโs a fun one. Dating in the digital age is… interesting. You get to meet many people, but thereโs also this paradox of choice. Sometimes it feels like everyone is looking for the next best thing instead of appreciating the person in front of them. But hey, itโs all part of the journey, right?
PW: Absolutely! It’s a world full of swipe rights and lefts. Now, as you’re inching closer to the finish line in university, have you thought about your future career?
Mika: Yes, Iโve been thinking about it quite a lot. Iโm studying Communications, and my dream is to become a documentary filmmaker. The Philippines has so many untold stories, and I want to be the one to share them with the world. I also think about maybe starting my own podcast or YouTube channel to give a voice to young Filipinas like myself.
PW: That’s truly commendable, Mika. The world needs more storytellers like you. Last question – what’s one piece of advice you’d give to young Filipinas reading this?
Mika: Believe in your own narrative. Our country is rich with history, culture, and traditions, but it’s also essential to find your own voice amid all that. Stay genuine, learn from every experience, and always remember โ you have the power to shape your destiny.
PW: Beautifully said! Maraming salamat, Mika, for sharing your journey with us. We’re excited to see where life takes you!
Mika: Salamat din, PinayWise! It was a pleasure chatting with you.
