His green card has expired. There’s a residency requirement to keep a green card. But he should be able to get his social security. I remember there’s a social security office in Manila.
If you can get a confirmation to the US Social Security Administration that Ken is alive, they should pay his pension backdated to when it was suspended, I think that is the most important thing for Ken so that he is financially better off

Only if you get SSI you can only be out of country for 30 days after that your SSI payments stop, SSDI and retirement social security you can live overseas for as long as you like, SSI is a gift from the government we’re SSDI and retirement social security you paid into and have the number of years you paid to qualify for those benefits, SSDI is just like retirement social security you have the number of years to qualify only you got sick or hurt before you reached retirement age, so the government feels you earned those benefits unlike SSI is a gift, you get if you become sick or hurt with out the proper number of years contributing to the social security system

If you break the law, and it IS the law, then you pay the price, or penalty as Immigration term it, I was surprised that it wasn’t more to be honest, no country takes kindly to a foreigner abusing their status as a “guest”

The social security Administration sends a letter to the recipient of the social security benefits every year. The reason of the letter is to make sure that the recipient is still alive. If Ken did not respond in a timely manner, the benefits will be canceled and the benefit recipient will be considered dead.
Ken needs to call the USA embassy in Manila and talk to the social security office in the Embassy. They will help him resolve the situation.

DO NOT rely on the British Embassy/CG. Their main purpose is to further British (zionist) interests overseas and to sell weapons. If you lose your passport, you can get an emergency travel document but otherwise steer well clear. Worked for the FCO for over 25 years. Hope Ken gets home okay
Has he got a UK passport? he won’t be allowed in the country without one .Even with a UK passport he will NOT be admitted to a British hospital on arrival. He will need to reestablish residence first, then register with a GP. Only emergency treatment will be available in the meantime at A+E departments (ER) where he would’ be triaged and sent away unless he has very serious illness that requires immediate admissions to hospital. Any ongoing chronic conditions will be addressed in a follow-up appointment with a GP. He won’t have a GP so no such referral can be made.
He currently has no rights to medical treatment in the UK

@vrose6372 I think he said in the video the fees are over 100K pesos but they are trying to work out an arrangement and from what I know about Derek he won’t ask anyone for money. Although he appreciates everything everyone does nomatter how big or small I’ve never seen him ask. His PayPal info is linked and if you want to contribute and if you want your donation to go to ken you can just request that if you decide to donate.
Don’t worry Derek, we do understand there are a lot of unexpected and complicated stuff to face.
Even if Ken looks a bit relieved and less worried, we still can see sadness and anxiety in his eyes.

It’s never simple in the Philippines. It’s hard to believe that a person can’t just pay the late fees for overstay, and that they just keep you. Bernadette should have already gotten fruits and vegetables I would think, but maybe she needs a list. Good effort on Q’s part as he can only do with what he has to work with. Again PH is overly complicated on simplest things
I think the problem is the late fees are more than 100K pesos also Bernadette may not have money for fruits and vegetable don’t forget Ken has no income for now and if Derek gave her money and said it was for meat protein in their culture they are quite literal and she will probably only use those funds for what he said they are for.

Derek you are a star, thank you so much for helping Ken, just to see him eating is great he has a lot of weight to put back on. I knew there would be a lot more to organise for him, and it would take a longer time due to all the red tape you have to go through. If he can get his American social security back he will be independent financially as they owe him money, pay his fine for overstaying his visa and cover his own air fare etc. He can give Bernadette money to, seeing as she has been feeding him, and allowing him to stay with her, and she has little money but kindness to have taken him in.
Thank you to the people involved in getting him a medical check up, this will help to allow him to fly maybe some of is medical issues can be looked at while still in the Phillipines.
The money he has in the UK will support him over there, London is expensive for accomodation, which he will require while getting medical attention which you can’t just get unless immediately, unless you are an emergency case generally.
Nice to see of the update of Ken. I’ve watched the couple of your past vlogs of him, very sad situation he’d gone through. It made me think how lucky most of us are. But life can be tough for others…no home, no food, no family, no friends, ending up in juvenile delinquents home to have a roof and food for himself (it’s beyond most people’s threshold limits)…bending some rules of a home for juvenile delinquents institution to accommodate a helpless soul isn’t that bad. It would not happen in the UK, but in the Philippines it does, that’s amazing flexibility the did. Never mind of the bowl of rice on and on and forever eating rice for a brit. It great Bernadette was there, so kind of her to accommodate him regardless. Who will do such acts without guarantee of down payment deposit these days? His case seemed so complicated, but you are a blessing to him to have given your time to take his burden. Not many have the heart and enduring patience to go through it for another person. May God bless you for taking your time to help him. I hope he will be able to get his social security pension, it will make a change to his dire condition in the Philippines. Actually Derick, Ken is right to express his gratitude and thanking you for everything you’re doing to help him. The first step of his health status being checked is very important.
Regarding his social scurity, if he doesn’t fill out a SSA form 7612, his social security benefits will be suspended. That’s what happened to may father in law. He never received the form and his benefits stopped. My ather in law lives in the Philipiines and we had to contact the SSA through the US Embassy to get the form. Since there is a SSA office in the US Embassy, we just mailed it to the SSA address within the US Embassy. Once he fills out this form, he should get what is owed to him by SSA.
You are an absolute legend for helping Ken and the world needs more amazing people like you that go out of their way to help people who are doing it tough.

Just get on the phone with Social security in the US and have him talk to them. That should be efficient enough to get his money started back up again. He has to give them his personal info and they will ask him many questions. But if he answers everything correctly he should have his income restarted. Good looking out Q. ✌🏻

Only if you get SSI you can only be out of country for 30 days after that your SSI payments stop, SSDI and retirement social security you can live overseas for as long as you like, SSI is a gift from the government we’re SSDI and retirement social security you paid into and have the number of years you paid to qualify for those benefits, SSDI is just like retirement social security you have the number of years to qualify only you got sick or hurt before you reached retirement age, so the government feels you earned those benefits unlike SSI is a gift, you get if you become sick or hurt with out the proper number of years contributing to the social security system

jrc visa very expensive do your research anything jrc visa can do you can do yourself ,it might take a little longer , but you will save a butt load of cash , they wanted $280 CAD to get me a 3500p visa extension….any one overstaying do not sweat it , all can be payed on your way out at the airport …all is costs is the arrears and 500p fine

The social security Administration sends a letter to the recipient of the social security benefits every year. The reason of the letter is to make sure that the recipient is still alive. If Ken did not respond in a timely manner, the benefits will be canceled and the benefit recipient will be considered dead.
Ken needs to call the USA embassy in Manila and talk to the social security office in the Embassy. They will help him resolve the situation.

Has he got a UK passport? he won’t be allowed in the country without one .Even with a UK passport he will NOT be admitted to a British hospital on arrival. He will need to reestablish residence first, then register with a GP. Only emergency treatment will be available in the meantime at A+E departments (ER) where he would’ be triaged and sent away unless he has very serious illness that requires immediate admissions to hospital. Any ongoing chronic conditions will be addressed in a follow-up appointment with a GP. He won’t have a GP so no such referral can be made.
He currently has no rights to medical treatment in the UK

It’s never simple in the Philippines. It’s hard to believe that a person can’t just pay the late fees for overstay, and that they just keep you. Bernadette should have already gotten fruits and vegetables I would think, but maybe she needs a list. Good effort on Q’s part as he can only do with what he has to work with. Again PH is overly complicated on simplest things
I think the problem is the late fees are more than 100K pesos also Bernadette may not have money for fruits and vegetable don’t forget Ken has no income for now and if Derek gave her money and said it was for meat protein in their culture they are quite literal and she will probably only use those funds for what he said they are for.

Derek you are a star, thank you so much for helping Ken, just to see him eating is great he has a lot of weight to put back on. I knew there would be a lot more to organise for him, and it would take a longer time due to all the red tape you have to go through. If he can get his American social security back he will be independent financially as they owe him money, pay his fine for overstaying his visa and cover his own air fare etc. He can give Bernadette money to, seeing as she has been feeding him, and allowing him to stay with her, and she has little money but kindness to have taken him in.
Thank you to the people involved in getting him a medical check up, this will help to allow him to fly maybe some of is medical issues can be looked at while still in the Phillipines.
The money he has in the UK will support him over there, London is expensive for accomodation, which he will require while getting medical attention which you can’t just get unless immediately, unless you are an emergency case generally.

Nice to see of the update of Ken. I’ve watched the couple of your past vlogs of him, very sad situation he’d gone through. It made me think how lucky most of us are. But life can be tough for others…no home, no food, no family, no friends, ending up in juvenile delinquents home to have a roof and food for himself (it’s beyond most people’s threshold limits)…bending some rules of a home for juvenile delinquents institution to accommodate a helpless soul isn’t that bad. It would not happen in the UK, but in the Philippines it does, that’s amazing flexibility the did. Never mind of the bowl of rice on and on and forever eating rice for a brit. It great Bernadette was there, so kind of her to accommodate him regardless. Who will do such acts without guarantee of down payment deposit these days? His case seemed so complicated, but you are a blessing to him to have given your time to take his burden. Not many have the heart and enduring patience to go through it for another person. May God bless you for taking your time to help him. I hope he will be able to get his social security pension, it will make a change to his dire condition in the Philippines. Regarding his social scurity, if he doesn’t fill out a SSA form 7612, his social security benefits will be suspended. That’s what happened to may father in law. He never received the form and his benefits stopped. My ather in law lives in the Philipiines and we had to contact the SSA through the US Embassy to get the form. Since there is a SSA office in the US Embassy, we just mailed it to the SSA address within the US Embassy. Once he fills out this form, he should get what is owed to him by SSA.
