  • Does he have a visa to work in Phils?….How long has he been there?….Is he drunk?…Great video.

  • I believe at some point..he needs to be present at a social security office to complete the process..had two friends that had to make the trip from Thailand..former military retired.

    • I did all that with ease. For his age that should be automatic, he don’t have to wait. He had too much excuses for a Major. I had friends took the severance pay, which is stupid. But most were E6 and below. I have not heard the army applied it to field grade officers. Going through what he said. He came in 84. Served 15 years. I thought Clinton had that program in early 90s after the Gulf War. In 89 that program was over with.

  • I learnt a lot from this guy for being content in a modest existence. God bless you, sir.

  • So whatever happened to this guy’s Social Security benefits? He should be considered rich in Philippines with whatever he is entitled to receive monthly.

    • @qadventuresFantastic !!! I hope he gets his benefits retroactively. VA medical as well since he was a dedicated service member.

    • @qadventures he said he already went to VFW, and he was told what to do. If he was an officer like he said, he won’t be procrastinating like this. He acting like a lower enlisted like private that need to spoonfeed all he needed.

    • @@jelizardi2000you can only get a retro if you put your application in. He said he was a gulf war vet, did he ever heard the BURNING PIT program? DD form 214 will justify all that. Cross out all his personal info but first name. I would like to see it.

  • He would be covered under the PACT Act for his service and I’m sure would be eligible for some kind of % of a disability. Does he have any ringing in his ears? That’s a tinnitus disability that will get him $175 USD a month to start with. It’s a battle to get disability but worth it. Go to the VFW and get one of the VSO’s (veterans service officer) to file VA claims and will more than likely get something.

    • Also, Social Security does provide outreach services at the Consular Agency office at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu. They will process SS applications. Check with them and see when is the next time they’ll be in Cebu.

  • This dude is lazy, and he doesn’t have what he claimed to be a major or office in the US Army. My advice to this bum is that he needs to get his ass to the embassy and VA to get his benefits straight.

    • It just occurred to me, just now, to start a fundraiser. You are not obligated to participate, but if you can share the page to any vet communities, it is greatly appreciated

      https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-a-us-army-veteran-access-his-rightful-benefits?lid=un1zp272aqws&utm_medium=email&utm_source=product&utm_campaign=t_email-co_welcome-0220-us&

  • The first thing he needs to consider is opening a bank account with a bank that has a direct deposit agreement with the US. Most of the major banks like Metro, Landbank, PNB, etc. have such agreements. Make sure the bank is conveniently located for you to physically access when needed. Most information is available at the US Embassy on the Philippines website. Also, it could take 2 to 6 months to process, so be prepared to wait a while for your first payment.

  • Tell him not to mention to the Social security administration that hes living in the Philippines full time, and he needs to set up an permanent American address and an American checking account aswell for the direct deposit

    • That might be a little problem. The man is such a straight shooter, he is going to say he lives in the Philippines. I will tell him though

    • Both my parents retired in the late 90s and returned to the Philippines, had Social Security Administration direct deposit their benefits in a local bank there. I had to call SSA from here in the states to stop payments when they passed away. I myself am retiring for the second time this year but my checks will be direct deposited into Navy Federal Credit Union where I can access them worldwide. All I have to do is change of address (there’s a Navy retired office at the province I’m going to) but bank stays the same.

  • Victor might want to apply for veteran disability – it’s hard though, but keep at it and if you have to appeal keep on appealing it if you don’t receive it at first.. Then he can get the VA check, and his Social Security check. Let the VA doctors know what all is wrong with you from your time in service. Thank you Derek, and the subscribers who helped Victor!

  • It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been out of the military, you can always file a claim with the VA and you should look up information about the PACT Act and if he has issues now that he is sure was caused during his military experience and has friends/buddies that can write a buddy statement for him then he can get those disabilities service connected. Just watching this video it also appears that he developed some sort of PTSD. He kept joking about it but the jokes about not going to medical “for paper cuts and bruised knees” is a clear sign that he was pushed too hard while in service and is terrible advice. That’s just my two cents.

  • He needs to get to a VA hospital. They have them in the phillipines. Talk with a representative and file a disability claim. I am also a Desert Storm Vet I receive 4300 a month tax free.

    • Dang!!! Yes. There’s a VA in Manila. I started a gofundme for Victor so he can go up to Manila to get all that situated. The campaign is in the video description if you are interested

  • Awesome video I did all my VA claim and exams in Manila and I remember that either VFW or American legion sponsor an outreach program, but non the less https://ph.usembassy.gov/us-consular-agency-cebu/ both program or some info is there for social security and VA claim also contact the FBU unit they will give you all the info needed

  • I understand the mans situation, and I understand many people need help, but what I am finding it hard is, how come he hasnt tried to sort his pension out way before? Maybe getting into the rut of things with his daily low pay working life for the community etc, and time flying by, plus family to take care off etc..

  • If he was discharged honorably, designated as a retired combat veteran at time of discharge, then he is entitled to automatic VA healthcare benefits. As far as disability compensation, that’s gonna be a battle, BUT he should definitely be entitled to something from that as well.

    • Yes. We hope to reach our gofundme campaign goal so Victor can be situated in Manila for a month or 2 to get all that sorted out

    • I don’t understand it either, He speaks very broken also, Stolen Valor was my first thought, but I’m not judging, Against my Biblical way, God Bless the Support of others.

    • I’d check if the Manila VA clinic can process a VA disability claim. If not he can try to get on the VA website and begin the process remotely. They have a ‘records only’ where they use all the records submitted to VA after discharge. I had tons of documented conditions. Started out at 20%. Didn’t pursue after 1st appeal turned down. But they had all my records going back to ’91. I hired an attorney and just kept appealing, getting re-exams, etc. until I was finally awarded 100% P&T after -30 years. Even then they left out stuff I was documented for while in service. All the disabilities added up to 220% which is great since I”m now paralyzed on one side from LoD injuries. He needs someplace he can pursue this and respond to and conduct examinations. I.e. CONUS

    • This vet has social security for sure. He could also file a claim with the VA and get some kind of disability compensation as well.

  • Good Video! That soldier is a true survivor -hang in there Sir ! Look forward to meeting you and Mr Dereck too!!!!!

  • Just go to VA in Manila or Clark AFB to have their Veterans Services Officers help you with your claims.

    • That’s the plan. But he’s in Tabuelan, Cebu and we started and gofundme for him to travel and stay up there for a while until he gets his stuff situated

  • maswerte pa siya dito pg sa us homeless yan at sa kalsada matutulog, dami veteran doon na homeless

  • A VA Service Officer can get him sorted out
A VA Service Officer, also known as a Veterans Service Officer (VSO), is a professional who helps veterans and their families navigate the complex world of VA benefits and services. They are trained to understand the various programs and benefits available, and they assist with the application process, gather necessary evidence, and advocate on behalf of veterans.

  • Thank you so much for this amazing video! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). What’s the best way to send them to Binance?

  • Thanks for the breakdown! I have a quick question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?

  • My boyfriend was 63 when he filed an early retirement to social security, i think he got 70% or 80% and his younger 2 boys got their money too like 900$ a piece until they graduated high school, he served 17 years and he was healthy then, his ex wife got only the half of his army money because they were married for more than ten years but not his social security money
