Re the Motel, can happen to anyone, happened to me my first time in Singapore, we arrived in Singapore at 1 am so we didn’t want to bother my wife’s family who had offered to pick us up, our plan was after landing we’d get a cheap motel and meet them in the morning to stay with them, I booked the cheapest motel I could find, turned out to be the same type of motel right in the centre of Singapore’s red light district, my wife and i looked very out of place arriving in a taxi from the airport 3 big suitcases, baby and pram, the room was filthy, we ended up sleeping on the bed in the clothes we wore on the plane, baby slept in the pram.
You can tell this story to Ai maybe make her feel better about it🤞I guess there’s a lesson there for cheap skates like me?
It’s not being cheapskate, Dave. We stay in budget hotels also as we feel we don’t utilize the room enough to justify money that can go towards helping others.
In regards to this situation, Ai has a great sense of humor about it. We laughed over descent Chinese food
@Q AdventuresMy wife didn’t find it funny at the time we laugh about it now though, Over the years we’ve had places we expected to be ok but were actually awful and others that much better than expected, it’s part of the adventure of travelling places you haven’t been before. Glad Ai has such a good personality 👍and yeah a good Chinese meal makes anything better.
Of course Scottie boy has been all over staying here in his one a day adventures as the “Rolling Stone” of the Philippines.. saw the recent vid with old dog in Dumaguete (where I’ll be next month)
