When I was stationed in Okinawa Japan, I’d go snorkeling all the time. Sadly at that time cellphones or go-pros weren’t around and cam-coders were expensive. I had local friends that would take me out fishing, and we’d have BBQ picnics with whatever we gathered or caught (hand spear fishing).
Hand spear fishing sounds super fun. For a long time, I never used electronics either. I felt that the time it takes to pull it out and turn it on, I have missed the moment. My brain is the best recording device. Sounds like your memory of your experience supercede technology on this one
